Medical Alliance Rendering Service to Fellowmen
OUR ALLIANCE
The Medical Alliance Rendering Service to Fellowmen is a bonafide accredited organization of the PLM College of Medicine that is geared towards provision of service founded by the pillars of Loyalty, Integrity, Nobility, Equality, and Service. In its years of existence, the alliance has grown bigger and stronger catering to various events and activities that aims to render help to the medical field and to our fellowmen.
This alliance have been established since 1990 and has kept its foundation standing up to the present. This alliance have collaborated with various organizations to fulfill our duty of service to mankind. Several activities have been organized that aims to help our colleagues and more importantly those who needs medical attention. These include Medical Missions in different corners of the country, Relief Operations to those affected by calamities, Party-for-a-cause which caters to chosen beneficiaries, Seminars for doctors and medical students, and Competitive events (e.g. Strings n' Percs, Fun Runs, Badminton Cup, InterMed Brainfreeze) that build camaraderie among chosen medical student participants.
The Alliance is, and will forever will be a strong unit of brothers and sisters that is taking a common path, with a common belief - MEDICINE BEGINS WITH INTEGRITY!
The Fraternity
The Mu Alpha Rho Service Fraternity was founded on April 7,1988 by 21 medical students of the PLM College of Medicine. They are bounded by the pillars Loyalty, Integrity, Nobility, Equality, and Service.
The Greek name Mu Alpha Rho was derived from the phrase that they believe in - "Medicine Begins with Integrity". This was affixed by "Service Fraternity" to show that this fraternity has been established to render service to the community and in the field of medicine.
Each member, known as Rhoans, has shared a common path. This path made them a man of values. Rhoans are united as one, but can stand alone and represent the entire fraternity with greatness. Rhoans are, and forever will be Men of Greatness with Outstanding Achievements.
The Sorority
The Mu Upsilon Sigma Service Sorority was founded on October 20,1990. This sorority shares common ideals with their Rhoan brothers. They share the same pillars and beliefs. They also believe in the value of Integrity as one of the core values of a physician.
